Grappling with Cutting-Edge Science and Technology, Providing Feedback to Practical Education and Real World

We at KARL of TUT are vigorously promoting and supporting diverse research activities that will contribute to the creation of true value for the society of the 21st century, through a collaborative framework between government, industry and academia. To date, we have already established the Bio-nanotechnology Center, the Computer Science Research Center, and the Content Technology Center and have been conducting a variety of projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. This academic year (AY2018) we added the Center for Ceramic Matrix Composites on our premises, heralding international industry-academia collaborative research in this field. This center is going to be a crucible of the diverse knowledge and insights gained from various research at all the four schools of TUT, and here we plan to nurture research toward the development of composite ceramics.

Ever since the inception of KARL, we have been striving to make valuable contribution to society in science and technology by meeting the various challenges it is facing. At the same time, we have been aiming to provide education through leading-edge R&D with returns to society, which is indeed one of TUT’s guiding principles. Thus, we are dedicated to feeding the results of our world-class R&D back to the classroom and educating young students to be researchers and engineers equipped with a flexible mind who are eager to take up today’s challenges.

We look forward to your continued support and cooperation.
