| Oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) leads to aging and some diseases such as cancer, ischemia/reperfusion injury, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis etc. Consequently it is meaningful to identify the ROS in vivo. Monitoring the oxidation products of antioxidants is suitable for that purpose, and we have identified some specific oxidation products to individual ROS. We also have established a system for analysis of those metabolites using LC/MS/MS. |
