Bionics/Drug Development and Biotechnology of Microenvironment

Research content
We derived cancer stem cell (CSC) models from normal induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and developed CSC-transplanted animal models. Because these CSC models can provide sufficient number of CSCs derived from normal iPSCs, they can be used to study the effects of changing microenvironments on spontaneously developing tumors. Such model systems are very useful in studies on cancer development, drug discovery, and diagnosis.

Research theme

1. Cancer Stem Cell Models Derived from Normal iPSC/ESCs.
2. Drug Development for Cancer Stem Cells.
