“Why does skin type differ from person to person?” In our laboratory, we investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying skin functions, especially the regulation of sebum production, focusing on nuclear receptors and the effects of sex hormones and fat-soluble vitamins. We also explore novel ligands from plants and natural products, while applying nucleic acid technologies such as aptamers to develop next-generation functional cosmetic molecules and materials that address the diversity of skin associated with sex, age, and individual differences. |
