Tokyo University of Technology has been in partnership with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) since 1997, and in order to promote further collaboration, President Yutaka Kagawa, Vice President Sumi Katsuura, Professor Soichiro Ikuno (Faculty of Computer Science, Digital Twin Center Director), and Professor Kenichiro Sekine (Director of the Center for Collaborative Research and Practice), along with Professor Chikara Fujiwara, Specially Appointed Research Professor at the Katayanagi Advanced Research Laboratories CMC Center and MIT alum, who was onsite conducting research on Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC), visited MIT and had discussions with Professor John Hart, Dean of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Research and educational activities at MIT are expected to be enhanced in the future.

As part of the exchange, Professor Haruhiko Asada from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT will visit our university on December 19th to conduct a special lecture.
